Tenure Track Faculty Position in Clinical Quantitative Pharmacology

Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences

University of California, San Francisco

The UCSF Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences (BTS) invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Expertise in pharmacometrics or quantitative clinical pharmacology, including clinical pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic modeling, population pharmacokinetic modeling or modeling and simulation of clinical trials, is preferred. We are particularly interested in individuals focused on the application of quantitative pharmacology or pharmacometric concepts and techniques to therapeutic product development, including regulatory evaluation of therapeutic products. The candidate must be an investigator with demonstrated training, interest and commitment to quantitative pharmacology, pharmacometrics research or its application.

Candidates must have a doctoral degree (e.g., M.D, Ph.D, or PharmD.) and appropriate post-doctoral research, training or experience in quantitative pharmacology. The successful candidate will be part of a new, interdisciplinary research program in quantitative pharmacology that will extend from basic computational and systems pharmacology to clinical quantitative pharmacology. The successful candidate should demonstrate an interest and track record in collaborative, interdisciplinary and translational research that is directly applicable to problems in drug development. Interaction with pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, as well as regulatory agencies, is highly encouraged. The new faculty member will be expected to teach and develop educational programs in clinical pharmacology modeling and simulation, and to establish an innovative, independent research program that will attract and maintain extramural funding from industry or governmental agencies. The individual will be a member of the UCSF Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacogenomics Graduate Group (PSPG), and the Quantitative Biosciences Consortium (QBC).
