The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine invites applications for Assistant Professor faculty positions. We are broadly interested in candidates focusing in the areas of biophysics or genomics or biochemistry. Successful candidates will be expected to establish a vigorous, innovative and independent research program and participate in teaching. They will join a highly interactive, interdisciplinary group of faculty (http://www.uchsc.edu/sm/bbgn/), students, and fellows, and enjoy access to state-of-the-art equipment and facilities on our new campus. Candidates must hold a PhD (or equivalent) degree and have a strong record of research accomplishments. Applicants should submit a CV, a brief description of research accomplishments and future plans, and names of at least three references via jobsatcu.com.
Review of applications will begin on Nov 15, 2010 and continue until the position is filled.
From the Department Chair’s letter to Pam Silver: We are interested in recruiting the best scientists to join us, so we are not focusing the search in a specific area. However, we are particularly interested in receiving applications from individuals with interests and experience in biochemistry or biophysics or genomics. We intend to build on our strengths in these areas.
Our department consists of a highly interactive group of colleagues. We are located on a new campus that provides wonderful open lab space with state-of-the-art facilities (and nice views of the mountains, by the way). I believe that this is a University and a Department on the rise, and I intend to build on our strengths to make a great department even better.
