The evolution of opinion

According to a recent poll, 40% of Americans agree with the statement that “God created human beings in pretty much their present form at some time in the last 10,000 years or so” (emphasis added).

What may surprise readers from other countries is that this number is an improvement.  It used to be almost 50%.

The same survey indicates that the number of Americans who feel God probably had little to do with it is up to 16%.  Perhaps this group will soon be almost as important as soccer moms in electoral calculations.
