We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow with a strong background in cell and molecular biology to study the role of cancer stem cells in resistance to anti‐angiogenic therapy. The candidate will use new model systems to explore the response of cancer stem ells to hypoxia. These studies will reveal novel aspects of cancer stem cell biology that will advance the field and serve as a foundation for future therapies. The ideal candidate will design, perform and interpret experiments to characterize cancer stem cells in hypoxia‐mediated evasive resistance. The individual will demonstrate a high level of initiative in troubleshooting experiments and will effectively collaborate with other members of the Oncology Research Unit. The candidate will conduct research that leads to first‐author publications in prominent journals and will present data at internal and external meetings.
Qualifications: Qualified individuals should have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Cancer Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or related field. The individual should possess a proven track record of productivity in research. The candidate should be self‐motivated and able to work as a team player in a highly interactive and multi‐disciplinary research environment. The successful candidate will have: ‐ Proven ability to generate high quality data as evidenced by publications in peer reviewed journals. ‐ Previous research experience in cancer biology and/or stem cell biology is preferred. ‐ Excellent communication skills, including written and oral communication.
