Artist talk this Weds — Douglas Kornfeld
February 14, 2011 § 1 Comment
The Systems Biology Artist Talk series, organized by our faithful artist no-longer-quite-in-residence Brian Knep, continues with a talk from Douglas Kornfeld this Wednesday, Feb 16th, @4pm in WAB563.
Douglas Kornfeld has completed public arts projects throughout the US including large works in: Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, and Washington. He has exhibited his artwork throughout New England, New York City, Texas, Colorado, and Washington State. Currently he is working on a large sculpture that was commissioned by the city of Wuxi outside of Shanghai, China. Although born in Colorado, he has lived worked and taught in Cambridge, MA for more than 30 years. He graduated from the University of Oregon, and has fine arts degrees from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Massachusetts College of Art.
Thanks Becky. Doug is an amazing art teacher and will be giving an art-appreciation-deconstruction-101 class in addition to showing some of his own work. Next month we have Joe Ketner, a well known critic/curator/theorist, giving a similar talk from his particular perspective. I think these will be great talks for anyone, myself included, who’s come out of a modern art museum saying, “huh?!?”
