Congress votes on the NIH budget this Tuesday

The April budget deal for fiscal year 2011 reduced the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) budget by over $300 million. Grant funding rates this year are expected to be at an all time low.  The House of Representatives is scheduled to make their funding recommendation for NIH on July 26 (next Tuesday).  If you want your views to be heard, act now.

      Not sure I can — given everything that’s been going on regarding the debt limit — but I’ll look out for news about what happens now.

    About an hour after the Senate voted on Tue (included in the vote was the 2012 budget “as is”), it seems like a GO button was pushed on pending grants. Anyone else have this experience?
